About the Artist
Tyesha Baird, Studio Arts
Tyesha Baird is an artist originally from Brooklyn, New York. Ms. Baird is studying Studio Art at Tidewater Community College and will be graduate in Spring 2020. Her influences include Street Art, drawing, glass blowing, 3-Dimensional Design, painting and water coloring. Tyesha will also be doing an art exhibit in the Visual Art Center. At a young age Tyesha has been walking the streets of the city of New York City looking at all the bright colors of the street artist from Chinatown, Harlem, Flatbush Avenue.

Artist Statement
I am mixed media artists who is from the city of New York City. I’m graduating from Tidewater Community College with a degree in Studio Arts. I’m very influenced in my art making by painting, printmaking, 3-Dimensonial, glass blowing and graphic design.
I grab my inspiration from New York City street art Todd Schorr and Taskashi Murakami. They have different styles, colors and also have different meanings too, for example Takashi Murakami uses pop culture and Japanese culture. Todd Schorr is inspired by movies that he has seen from the late 70s through the mid 90s. Schorr would create masks for the latest movies including horror movies.
